IKEA Orlando is open!!!

Oh my, I may have lost my mind... I have been waiting for Ikea to open FOREVER! When I found out the date and my mom decided she wanted to go - we were ready for an adventure. We left Palm Harbor with my dad driving the RV at 6am on Tuesday and arrived at Ikea at 8am and ready to rough it for 25 hours :) We were #42/43 in line, which means we were in the first 100 and got a FREE Poagg chair/cusion - its so cool, just need to decide where the hell I am going to put it! The day went by with no problem... walked around, watched a group play frisbee, football and 4 square, quite entertaining. There was a sponsered bingo game and pictionary game during the day too - we played, I won at bingo and got a little pillow that came in handy for my butt during the night, LOL. All was fine and dandy till about 10pm when we tried to fall asleep, realizing that the above lights were not going to be shut off so it was so bright and a group of loud girls did not shut up till about 12:30am. I think we slept on and off from about 1am - 4am, then at like 5am we start hearing helicopters and the Star Wars theme music... and coffee/doughnuts arrived :) lots of tv cameras/photographers/reporters (I may be in the UF Alligator, anyone get a copy of that?lol) we got our space cleaned up and ourselves and were then moved over at 6am to our new home in front of the doors where we got free water bottles, frisbees and a tshirt that doesn't fit me... listened to The Star Spangled Banner, the Swedish anthem and America the Beautiful as they rose the flags (very touching). Finally 9am rolled around and we were aloud inside... did I mention that I LOVE IKEA... 4 hours later, after we ate yummy swedish meatballs and chocolate cake for lunch and $220 later we were out of there :) So much fun! I bought mostly for my stamproom/studio but also got some stuff for my guest bathroom, a few gifts, new water glasses for the kitchen and some food goodies... they didn't have any Christmas stuff out yet, so i hope to go back before Christmas :) I can't wait til the one in Tampa opens, I hear 2009!!!!

Busch Estate Party on St. Pete Beach

Monday, November 12, 2007

Wow! What a great weekend :) My husband does a little computer consulting on the side and this company he has been doing work for was hosting a weekend party and we were invited as guests!!! It was at the Anhesher Busch Estate on St. Pete Beach :) a 19 million dollar estate that is for sale... The party kicked off on Friday night with our limo ride to the house and lots of good food (see ice sculputure with raw oysters and shrimp cocktail) more food, great music, hilarious comedian... on Saturday we were able to pick an activity that was paid for, we choose the spa - we stayed at the Tradewinds - we had a massage, facial and a manicure, so relaxing! Then another yummy dinner on Saturday night on the beach at the Tradewinds - i was so tired i didn't get to enjoy it as much as i'd like, but the food was so good!!!!

Cheap Trick!?!?

Friday, November 2, 2007

So, while we were in Las Vegas - the City of Sin :) LOL The last night of the Citrix Iforum (my husbands convention he attended) there is usually a concert of some sort... 2 years ago it was Bilushi (can't spell) this year was Cheap Trick! I wasn't too familiar with their songs so prior to leaving I made sure I downloaded some. Jade and I had to buy guest passes to attend the opening and closing events since we were not attendee's. It was unlimited food and wine/beer so that made up for it... The concert was at The Beach @ Mandalay Bay, where apparently freaky things happen :) well since the IT world is mostly "nerdy guys" it wasn't going to get too wild, LOL. The stage was over the water - so a few peeps starting walking out in it (really old nerdy dudes that totally remember Cheap Trick!) We were getting pretty tipsy (Tracy, my cousin Jade and 2 of Tracy's coworkers) so I decided to roll up my damn jeans and drag Jade in the water to have a little adventure... it was fun :) we ditched the party early and stopped at the bar on the way out, as you can see we double/tripled up on our beverages! We looked like total lushes walking around the casino with 2 drinks (heheehe). We ended up at the Kitty Cat Club where really slutty girls were trying to sing and dance, it was really bad and it was at Mandalay Bay... well we just drank and danced - it was a good time! Tracy will have to tell you about losing the wallet story!!!! Enjoy the pics :) I have video too, but can't upload them on here :)

Las Vegas

Friday, October 26, 2007

Our time in LV went by so fast... I wish I was still there! The first night (Sunday) Tracy and I just had an early dinner and caught up on some sleep. My cousin Jade flew in on Monday to keep me company (or in trouble) LOL. On Monday, Tracy and his 2 coworkers finished the conference around dinner time we all meet up at the convention center for FREE beer/wine/food, got bored and decided to hit the road, the most interesting drive ever, Jade and I thought we were going to die! Anyways, we ended up at the top of the Eiffel Tower! It was so cool to see the Bellagio water show from that high up, we just caught the last showing at midnight. Also, Tom (Tracy's boss) got upgraded at Manadalay Bay because he checked in so late and ended up with a suite... with an awesome view of the strip, the best part was he could push a button and the blinds went up (like in the movies!) it was so cool, we hung out up there for a while :) Next I will post a blog on my sushi experience and then our Private show with Cheap Trick.....

Utah

Wednesday, October 24, 2007

Oh boy, Utah was awesome... it snowed and it was gorgeous!!! Here are a few pics from last weekend at the CTMH Album Retreat, I was trying to post them earlier, but there was no internet access in Utah and its $13 a day here in Las Vegas where I am staying (The Hotel at Mandalay Bay). The Retreat was awesome, we got a 12x12 linen album (in a NEW color!) made 10 double layouts plus a title page, a mini book using the True Fit Folio's, got like 8 stamp sets and all the leftover flowers, ribbon, chipboard, etc that we didn't use on our pages, so worth it! Also the food was yummy the entire time :)

Leaving town...

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

I am leaving town tomorrow for almost 12 days!!! I have never been gone that long :) I am excited but a little stressed (hence the migraine/headache). First i am heading to Park City, Utah for the CTMH Album Retreat from Thursday - Sunday where it is going to be in the 30's and will probably get snow... then on Sunday afternoon I am flying to Las Vegas to meet up with my husband who has to be there for a convention. My cousin, Jade is flying in from Atlanta on Monday to keep me company (or in trouble, lol) We are seeing KA on Tuesday!!! Then she'll leave on Thursday and my in-laws fly in, which they will rent a car and we will drive to 29 Palms, CA to visit my husbands uncle/wife that I have never met before :) We will be there from Thursday night thru Sunday, then drive back for one more night in Vegas before our flight on Monday afternooon.... woo hoo... sounds pretty tireing huh? The only thing I am worried about is what to pack for temps from the 30's to the 80's :) Pray I don't go over the 50lb limit!!! I have internet access the entire trip, that i know of, so I will try to blog from the road...... xooxx

What are you?

What scrapbooking item are you?

You are Fibers!Fun and crazy at times. You are a warm fuzzy kind of person. You run around getting things done but still find time for fun! You have so many diverse interests that it is often hard to pin you down to any one thing. People love your friendly attitude and carefree ways. You often brighten other people's days. But Fibers Beware - Sometimes people don't take you seriously because of your happy-go-lucky ways. Sometimes you find yourself feeling left out from decision making that could directly affect you. Even though you like to be happy and cheerful, make sure others know that you can also be serious and in tune with reality.

I watched my nephew...

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

I've never watched anyone (childwise) overnight before and I offered to watch my 16 mo. old nephew last week. Well, my sister took me up on it (I think she was very nervous). Well, Brayden arrived on Saturday afternoon. We played, went for a walks, took naps, went swimming, ate yummy food, watched some movies... had a good time and he only cried 3 times (2 of those times was when my sister would call and check on him and I left him with my hubby, he didn't want me to leave the room) It was a good weekend. My family came over on Monday for a cookout and my sister took him home. I talked to her today and she tells me that I spoiled him... what are aunts for???? Here are a few pics from the weekend :) P.S. That is my sister letting him go thru the cat door on my back porch - next time he comes over i think he will wonder why i don't fit thru there anymore, LOL
