Ireland - Day 3 - Feb. 22

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

This is a picture of the Breaffy House that we stayed at in Castlebar. The rooms were all different, it was pretty cool! First, we drove to the Westport House in Westport - it was closed for the winter and under construction, so we didn't get any pictures... Next, we drove thru the Dhulough Pass near the mountains above picture of the Aasleagh Falls and a roadside picture) to the Kylemoor Abbey, so beautiful :) The abbey is still functioning as a school for young girls from all over the world. We were able to see a few rooms inside the Abbey along with taking a stroll
to the church and a little stroll farther to a musoleum.

Ireland - Day 2 - Feb. 21

Day 2 - On this trip, which was a package deal (included airfare, car rental and 6 nights hotel stay) it consisted of us staying at 3 different hotels. The first night was outside Dublin (which will be our last night as well). So, on day 2 we left Dublin to our next hotel in Castlebar (NorthWest area). First we drove north of Dublin to a town called Howth, there we saw the Bailey's Lighthouse. Next, we drove north a little more out to Bru na Boinne Co. Meath (the palace or the mansion of the Boyne, the name given to one of the world's most important archaelogical landscapes, dominated by the spectacular prehistoric passage tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth). We visited Newgrange, the best known Irish passage tomb is surrounded by 97 stones. It was excavated between 1962-1975, and is 5000 years old.

Once we left here we were on our way to the hotel in Castlebar, but first we drove by this pretty cool graveyard (depressing day visiting dead bodies, LOL) then stopped at this old house called the Belvedere House, it was closing so we could only take pictures from outside. (Note: going in the off season alot of things are closed, especially food places and things tend to close early too). Lastly, in Althone is the World's Oldest Bar - Seans Bar - so had a beer here before finding dinner somewhere... yes, Gloria stole my cider for the photo op!!! This was day 2 :)

Ireland - Just a note!

Sunday, February 24, 2008

Wow... time sure does fly... I will be posting for each day of what we did with some pictures, but seems it will have to wait till I get home. So, this is just a note... The first morning while my curling iron was plugged into the converter, it started smoking and then popped (now we have NO converter, ugh!) Thank God nothing caught on fire, but needless to say, my hair has looked like CRAP all week (I have been wearing a hat to keep my ears warm, lol) ... it has been very windy and pretty cool though this week, it has drizzled off and on, but has not altered any of our plans and have not pulled out the umbrellas once!!! Oh, and today was beautiful!!!! We drove the Ring of Kerry all the way around :) Here is a picture from today... I will give the low down of the day soon :) We'll be back Tuesday afternoon, xoxoxoo

Ireland - Day 1 - Feb. 20th

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Oh my, what a day! NOTE - Do not drive in Dublin! You will get lost and you will lose your temper, LOL :) We had a good day even though we all only got like 2 hours of sleep on the plane (p.s. Aer Lingus Airline rocks! We got a full course dinner and breakfast!) and got lost a lot today, the signage is not good here in the city, so lets home tomorrow once we leave the city we don't get too lost! It is almost 8pm here (5 hours difference) and I will be in bed within the next 30 minutes.... here are a few pictures from today - The first picture is of Tracy and his parents, Jerry and Gloria, we are outside the Guiness Factory/Storehouse, the second one is of the Christ Church and the last is me and Tracy and the top of the Guiness Storehouse where you get your free pint of guiness and have a 360degree view of Dublin... very cool!!!! Off to bed....

Melissa's Bridal Shower

Monday, February 18, 2008

Sunday was a very nice day! My mom, sister and I went to Sunken Gardens for my cousin Melissa's Bridal Shower. It seems as though her colors are pink and black... exactly what my colors were 4 years ago! I love it! Here are some pictures from the day :) The one with Melissa and the scrapbook is the best... she was trying not to cry! Her mom made her (and shes not a crafty person) actually covered an album using parts of her actual wedding dress... it was extremely touching!!!

Valentines

I didn't post again all week and didn't scrapbook all week! I actually had a bad week with my new job.... some things will be changing on that front I am afraid, LOL! Anyways, I hope everyone had an awesome Valentines Day! I took the day off to "try" to relax after my 12 hour shift that I pulled on Wednesday... I had an eye exam (trying new contacts) then headed to Target for some shopping! I love Super Target! DH and I had reservations for dinner at a nice little restruant in South Tampa but I just didn't feel like going out, so we were going to get Carrabas take out, but then again I changed my mind... the steaks at Target looked so good! So, we grilled steaks, loaded baked potatoes and a caeser salad, yum"o"! I also made Tracys favorite dessert, red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. It was a good night :) DH bought me some flowers and a bottle of wine (which we didn't even open!). Here are some pictures from the day :)

layout - atlanta roadtrip

Sunday, February 10, 2008

I finished up a layout I had started a while back... its from August 2006. My mom, sister and her kids and I took a roadtrip to Atlanta to visit some family :) We had a great time!!! I used the Bohemia paperline for the majority of the layout. Enjoy.

lazy weekend

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Wow, I didn't post all week - I guess that tells you either I was too busy to post OR too lazy to post... lets just go with a little bit of both. My new Admin Assistant/Office Manager job is starting to kick my butt! I am in the process of learning all the aspects of Quickbooks/Accountant Edition including payroll processing... so I seriously have my hands full!!! Anyways, this weekend has been lazy, Tracy is oncall so basically he's on house arrest (LOL) and I've decided to join him :) Last night he played some Guitar Hero (see pic) I actually suck at this game... actually maybe if I give it a second try I might catch on . I've also been doing a little bit of scrapbooking. I finished my cards for my March and April CTMH SOM swap and started a few cards for my March Workshop (March 21). Thats about all. Bad news today was our water heater thing has decided to break/leak so we have to get that fixed tomorrow along with having my parents over for lunch and some cards, tomorrow will be a busy day.... Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!! Chat soon :) 9 more days till I fly to Ireland!
